𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 - English Movie Genre - 𝘋𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢 Year of Release - 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟓 IMDB Rating - 𝟖.𝟏

The movie is primarily told from the point of view of 𝓙𝓪𝓬𝓴, a 5-year old boy whose entire world revolves around a 100sq ft. room where he lives with his ma and he considers anything outside his room is space. Ma has tried to keep Jack sheltered from their harsh reality and has made this living hell a fairy-tale for her kid. Though Jack is unaware of his reality but it becomes very obvious to the viewers that they’re being held captive by a man whom Jack addresses as “old nick” who visits every night. old-Nick is a psychotic character who has kidnapped Jack’s Ma and held her captive for 7 years and raped her and had been mentally and physically torturing her until she decides to hatch an escape plan.

Well, the sequence of the execution of the plan keeps the viewers on the edge-of-their-seat and is quite a thrilling moment but otherwise room is a very emotional movie about how Jack and his Ma deals with the outside world and tries to get accustomed with the complexities. The movie has some beautiful mother-child moments, Jack’s love for dogs etc.

The story line is a little slow with no fancy elements and not an usual entertainer. 𝓘𝓽 𝓱𝓪𝓼 𝓪 𝓼𝓲𝓶𝓹𝓵𝓮 𝓼𝓽𝓸𝓻𝔂𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓮 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓶𝓪𝓲𝓷𝓵𝔂 𝓯𝓸𝓬𝓾𝓼𝓮𝓼 𝓸𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓼𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓽𝓼 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓮𝓶𝓸𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓼 𝓸𝓯 𝓲𝓽𝓼 𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓾𝓼 𝓵𝓲𝓶𝓲𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓲𝓽𝓼 𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓰𝓮𝓽 𝓪𝓾𝓭𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮.

Overall, I consider the movie as a must-see for its outright innocence and unfiltered imaginations and trying to focus on how the human spirit may transcend physical boundaries, and the disparity between internal and external freedom.
